An early Victorian silver vinaigrette, the small oblong form engraved within punch-work borders, central personal dedication and opening to a silver-gilt interior with foliate scroll pierced grille. Hallmarked Thomas Shaw, Birmingham 1838, with William IV duty mark. Length measuring 2.5 cm, weight 9 grams.

Displaying general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Spots of discolouration to the grille, hinge and pins. Hinges in good working order. Lid rises slightly when closed. Hallmarks clear and legible.
