Lot Description
A George IV silver table snuff box, the oblong form with engine-turned decoration, floral rim, initialled cartouche and opening to a silver-gilt interior, hallmarked John Bettridge, Birmingham 1826, length measuring 7.8 cm. Together with a William IV silver snuff box of similar form, hallmarked Edward Smith, Birmingham 1830. Gross weight 5.7 ozt (177.5 grams). (2).

Condition Report
The snuff boxes display general scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A few dints. The William IV example displays more rubbing with loss of definition to the decoration, the interior also with abrasion marks. Hallmarks a little rubbed but clearly legible.
