Lot Description

A pair of early nineteenth century silver butter knives, each with carved mother-of-pearl handle and scroll engraved detail to the blade, hallmarked George Unite, Birmingham, apparent George IV duty mark but date mark possibly 1839, length measuring 8 inches (20.3 cm). Together with a mid-twentieth century cased set of six silver handled butter knives, hallmarked Viner's Ltd (Emile Viner), Sheffield 1948, a singular late Victorian silver spoon, Sheffield 1897 and a plated fork with five tines. (4).

In overall good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The set of knives have Viners Ltd stainless steel blades and marked as such, minor scuffs and wear to the fitted case. Hallmarks clear and legible.
