Lot Description
A mid-Victorian silver goblet, the circular cup with a central band of Egyptian-esque motifs in low relief surrounding a vacant cartouche, raised upon a tapered stem leading to a circular stepped base with zigzag pattern. Hallmarked Goldsmiths Alliance Ltd (Samuel Smily), London 1873. Height measuring 6 7/8 inches (17.7 cm), weight 13.1 ozt (407.9 grams).

Condition Report
In fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The interior of the cup is silver-gilt, it is significantly tarnished with dirt residue and remnants of ash. Would benefit from a clean and polish. The front of the goblet also has a large area of dried residue and some brown stain marks. No engravings to the cartouche. The exterior of the goblet has faint lines of gilding around the edges and banding. Hallmarks clear and legible.
