Lot Description

A small George IV Scottish silver mug, of circular tapered form with banded reed decoration, later engraved monogram and flat top scroll handle. Hallmarked James McKay, Edinburgh 1822. Height measuring 2 2/8 inches (5.7 cm), weight 2.9 ozt (92.2 grams).

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Construction seam visible down the length of the mug beneath the handle. The gilded interior is fairly bright with heavier marks to the interior edge. Hallmarks clear and legible.
