Lot Description

An Art Deco silver mounted table cigarette box, of rectangular engine-turned hinged form with central vacant cartouche and stepped corner accents, opening to reveal a wood lined interior with two compartments. Hallmarked Barker Brothers Silver Ltd., Birmingham 1935. Width measures 6 5/8 inches (17 cm).

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. No personal engravings to the cartouche. Significant dent to the top, minor dent to the cartouche, minor bumps around the exterior of the box. The green felt bay covering the wooden base has some marks and remnants of polish. The wood lined interior has some stains. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but still legible, partial hallmarks to the lid.
