Lot Description

A 1970's silver caster, the plain tapering form to a circular footed base, with repeated lobed border decoration, the removable lid having stylised foliate and simple hole piercing and turned finial with conforming lobed detail. Hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., Sheffield 1973. Height including finial measuring 7 1/8 inches (18 cm), weight 6.02 ozt (187.4 grams).

The caster appears in good overall condition, displaying some general light tarnishing, surface wear, marks and scratches. The lid is a good fit. Residues of sugar to interior. Hallmarks are clear and legible, including part hallmarks to lid.
