A pair of early Victorian silver shell butter dishes, each with gadrooned border and raised upon three shell feet. Hallmarked Edward, Edward junior, John & William Barnard, London 1839. Maximum length measures 5 5/8 inches (14.3 cm), weight 8.5 ozt (265.7 grams).

Condition Report
In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor wear to the shell feet. Some remnants of sticker and cello tape to the back of the dish with some speckled tarnish marks. Heavier surface scratches to the interior bowls. Maker's marks rubbed and worn, other hallmarks clear and legible.
