Lot Description

A Norwegian silver lidded tureen, the bowl of plain circular form with gadroon rim border and engraved crest, upon a fitted saucer base with personal inscription beneath, the removable cover with gadroon border and ebonised wood finial. Marked 830S alongside maker's marks for J. Trostrup, Oslo. Width of base measures 7 inches (18 cm), diameter of bowl 5 1/2 inches (14 cm), weight 17.7 ozt (553 grams).
