Lot Description
Two late Victorian silver bladed butter knifes with mother-of-pearl handles, each blade with scroll or foliate engraved motifs, hallmarked Birmingham 1893 and 1899, different maker's marks, length of largest measures 6 5/8 inches (17 cm). Together with a mid-Victorian silver butter knife, the embossed handle with shell motifs and vacant cartouche, hallmarked Martin, Hall & Co (Richard Martin & Ebenezer Hall), Sheffield 1868. (3).

Condition Report
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The ferrule on the 1899 example is dated 1881. The Sheffield example has hallmarks to the handle, maker's mark clearly visible, other hallmarks rubbed and worn, possibly different date.
