Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver mounted table cigarette box, the plain rectangular form with ogee corners and raised on four scroll feet, the hinged lid having centrally engraved initial and opening to a wood lined interior with single removable divider panel. Hallmarked Hukin & Heath Ltd., Birmingham 1919. Maximum length measuring 8 5/8 inches (22 cm) by 5 inches (12.7 cm).

The box appears in good overall condition, displaying general tarnishing and some expected surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. A few heavier surface nicks and marks. Hinged lid appears in good working order and sits mainly flush when closed, rising very slightly on one side. General wear and some staining marks to wood interior but still in good condition. Hallmarks clear and legible, including part hallmarks to thumb piece.
