Lot Description

A William IV silver letter opener, of plain tapered form with ring handle, contained within a leather pouch. Hallmarked London 1834, maker's mark partly distorted. Length measuring 7 7/8 inches (20.2 cm), weight 1.6 ozt (50.1 grams).

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The leather pouch has creases and slight discolouration around the edges. The maker's mark is partly distorted ?S, other hallmarks clear and legible.
