Lot Description
A late Victorian silver novelty salt spoon with shell bowl, spiral stem and thistle terminal set with hard stones, hallmarked W H Lyde, Birmingham 1895. Together with a small selection of novelty items comprising a silver mounted desk calendar with wood easel back, hallmarked James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin), Sheffield 1917, a Victorian mother-of-pearl folding knife with silver blade hallmarked Sheffield 1890, a silver mounted and cased pencil, Birmingham 1906, and a small pipe with applied silver band hallmarked Birmingham 1912. Condition Report
In varied state, all pieces displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches and also some tarnishing to silver parts. A few dints and bumps. The silver mount on the calendar is lifting a little. Salt spoon is quite heavily tarnished and stem a little bent. Hallmarks are mostly legible with some rubbing and slight distortion.
