Lot Description

A modern Britannia silver standard ruler, of typical form with canted edges engraved with measurements up to 12 inches (30 cm), the centre is engraved with the name of each English monarch, engine-turned decoration and vacant cartouche verso, contained within a fitted case. Hallmarked Richard Jarvis, London 2001, numbered 102 of 200. Maximum length measuring 13 2/8 inches (33.6 cm), weight 9.1 ozt (283.4 grams).

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some sticky residue to the top of the fitted case, the lining to the interior has hallmarks for and the name Richard O. A Jarvis. Hallmarks clear and legible.
