Lot 380

Lot Description

A late Victorian silver miniature or toy chocolate pot, of tapered form with stained wood handle and removable pierced lid, hallmarked Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings (Frank) Shepherd, Chester 1897, height measuring 4.2 cm. Together with an Edwardian silver miniature or toy caster, hallmarked Gourdel Vales & Co., Birmingham 1906 and an Edwardian silver miniature or toy tyg, hallmarked Birmingham 1905. Gross weight 27.5 grams. (3).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

In overall good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Heavier tarnish marks around and beneath the base of the chocolate pot, remnants of polish and dirt to the interior. The caster does not appear to open but sounds like something is inside. The footed base of the tyg is slightly compressed. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but still legible.
