Lot Description
A bi-colour cigarette case, probably French, the rounded rectangular form with alternating engine-turned and gold coloured stripes, the clasp with blue cabochon push release button and hinge opening to a gilt interior. Probable French guarantee marks to interior, indistinct, also impressed Mappin & Webb, in an associated case. Measuring 3 1/2 inches (9 cm) by 2 1/2 inches (6.5 cm), gross weight 3.38 ozt (105.2 grams).

Condition Report
The case appears in good overall condition, displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches. The hinge and clasp appear in good working order. Marks are indistinct. The stripes test as 59.77% gold, which is roughly 14 carat. The interior tests as 93.62% silver. The case is not original.
