Lot Description
A late Victorian silver cigar case, the rounded oblong form slightly curved and decorated with bright-cut engraved foliate scrolls to the front, hinge opening to a gilded interior with gilt metal spring. Hallmarked Horton & Allday, Birmingham 1890. Measuring 4 7/8 inches (12.5 cm) by 4 1/2 inches (11.5 cm), gross weight 6.09 ozt (189.4 grams).

Condition Report
In fair overall condition, displaying some general expected surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Some slightly heavier wear around edges and corners. Evidence of a possible monogram engraving underneath the foliate engraving. The hinges appear in good working order. The clasp is a little distorted but can still be closed firmly. Hallmarked to interior, some slight rubbing but still clearly legible.
