Lot Description
A late nineteenth century Russian silver box, of circular waisted form with cloisonné enamel decoration, the removable cover opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior. Stamped 84 alongside the assay master mark for Aleksandr Alekseyevich Smirnov, Moscow 1893 and a partly indistinct maker's mark. Width measures 5cm, gross weight 1.8 ozt (57.5 grams).

Condition Report
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor losses to the enamel, in particular to one of the beads around the base. The base is also significantly rubbed. Majority of marks clear and legible to the base, maker's mark partly indistinct, possibly AE?, partial maker's mark visible to the rim of the cover ?E, alongside the top of a partial struck city mark.
