A late Victorian silver visiting card case, of oblong curved form with engraved scrolls surrounding a central monogrammed cartouche, verso of cut-out shaped form, hallmarked George Unite & Sons, Chester 1889, numbered 238678, width measures 3 2/8 inches (8.3 cm). Together with a 1920's silver seal, of plain facetted tapered form, the circular terminal with engraved monogram, hallmarked William Vale & Sons, Chester 1920. Gross weight 1.3 ozt (40.8 grams). (2).

Condition Report
In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The card case has a minor bump to the front near the cartouche. The seal has minor bumps and dents and loss of definition to the top of the seal, remnants of polish in and amongst the engraved monogram. Maker's marks slightly rubbed but other hallmarks clear and legible.
