A good Chinese green-glazed porcelain dragon bowl. With slightly flared rim on foot, the exterior having incised decoration of two five-clawed Imperial dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls over breaking waves, underglaze blue Daoguang seal mark mark beneath, and probably of the period, 4.5" diameter x 2.5" high, (11.5cm x 6.5cm).
For a bowl of similar shape and subject with additional aubergine colouring, see Woolley & Wallis, 17th May 2016, lot 334 where referenced "Jan Stuart, Imperial Porcelain and Court Values, Orientations, August 1993, fig. 3 for a Kangxi dish in the same palette from the Tianminlou Foundation, Hong Kong."
