Lot Description
A 1920's silver butter dish of rounded rectangular form, the base having serpentine sides with bead and ribbon and reed borders, the plain cover opening to a removable frosted glass liner. Hallmarked William Suckling Ltd., Birmingham 1928. Maximum length of base measuring 6 1/4 inches (15.8 cm), silver weight 10.82 ozt (336.5 grams).

Condition Report
The butter dish appears in fair overall condition, displaying general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. A few minor dints and edge knocks to rim of the cover. Likely a replacement fixing screw to handle. There are some heavier scratches, surface nicks and contact marks visible to some areas, particularly noticeable to the base. Full hallmarks to base and part marks to cover, mostly clear and legible with some light rubbing. Several rim chips to glass liner.
