Lot Description
A pair of American sterling silver candelabra, each with circular weighted base rising to a tapering stem and campana shape socket, the removable upper section with short knopped stem and twin reeded branches leading to three further conforming shape sockets, with oblique gadrooned borders throughout. Maker Ellmore Silver Co. (Connecticut 1935-1960), each marked 'Sterling by Ellmore weighted and re-enforced' and with pattern number '269'. Maximum candelabra height measuring 15 1/4 inches (38.5 cm).

Condition Report
Both appear in fair overall condition, displaying some light tarnishing and general surface wear, marks and scratches. Several small dints and bumps, mainly visible around the edges of the circular bases. One candlestick with some creases in the metal below the socket and also around the top of the same socket. Residues of a sticky substance to one base. All with applied and fixed nozzles and some of these are lifting slightly. The upper sections screw into the candlesticks to form candelabra but can also be used as a pair of candlesticks. Marked to all for parts with matching maker name and pattern number.
