Lot Description

A large continental chalice, the circular base rising to a knopped stem decorated with foliate and berry borders, the cup with gilded interior and sitting within a pierced mount further decorated with fruiting vine and foliage. Various struck marks including a crowned letter B and crowned initials P I, possibly French or Hanau. Maximum height measuring 10 3/4 inches (27.5 cm), gross weight 23.7 ozt (737 grams).
