Lot Description
A 1960's silver condiment set, including a pepper, open salt, mustard pot and a condiment spoon (one missing), each with studded details in a fitted case, hallmarked John Rose, Birmingham 1961/62. Together with a 1960's silver pepper mill, hallmarked Mappin & Webb Ltd., Sheffield 1968, plus a cased set of six silver coffee bean spoons. Gross weight exclusive of liners 11 ozt (343.2 grams). Condition Report
In overall good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The mustard pot and open salt both with blue glass liners. The removable cover on the pepper is dated 1962, the main body has hallmarks for 1961, remnants of pepper visible to the interior. The condiment spoon is also dated 1962, the case has a space for another spoon which is missing. The pepper mill would benefit from a clean and polish, the grinder mechanism is marked 'Park Green & Co Ltd - Made In England'. The hallmarks on the coffee bean spoons are rubbed and worn, particularly the date marks, maker's mark just legible probably Levi & Salaman, other hallmarks clear and legible.
