Lot Description
A set of four mid-Victorian silver open salts and condiment spoons, each salt of circular form with beaded rim border above engraved foliate decoration surrounding a vacant cartouche, raised upon an embossed and fluted pedestal base with beaded edge, in fitted case. Hallmarked George Unite, Birmingham 1866. Gross weight 5 ozt (158.4 grams).

Condition Report
In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some minor surface marks to the interior of the salts. Construction seams visible to the condiment spoons. The fitted case is worn and tired, it does not lock or shut properly, the hinges are loose, it has become slightly discoloured, the base is split along the front, there are patches missing from the material with scuffs and marks all over, one of the interior bands to hold the spoons is broken. Hallmarks clear and legible.
