Lot Description
An early twentieth century pair of silver mounted candlesticks, each square plinth base with stiff leaf and beaded border, leading to a similarly decorated cylindrical column with floral motifs and fixed beaded rim nozzle. Hallmarked Thomas A Scott, Sheffield 1912. Height measuring 5 1/8 inches (13.2 cm).

Condition Report
In fair condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Each base is filled with a material lining which is worn and coming away. Minor loss of definition and heavier tarnishing to the decoration and around edges. Each candlestick has significant holes and splits to the corners of the silver mount on the plinth base. Minor bumps and dents to the columns with residue from the removal of stickers. One candlestick has significant dents beneath the nozzle with a slightly compressed edge. Remnants of polish visible. Hallmarks clear and legible, the date mark likely to be 1912 however could be 1905 slightly indistinct.
