A George II silver coffee pot of tapering form to a footed base, twin opposed scrolled cartouche and further floral and rocaille decoration with some later embossing, the domed and hinged lid with foliate finial. Hallmarked John Payne, London 1753. Height to finial measuring 8 1/2 inches (20.5 cm), gross weight 16.33 ozt (508 grams).

Total lot weight: No

The coffee pot displays some tarnishing and is quite tired and dull in appearance. Heavily stained to interior. General surface scratches, marks, wear and some dints and bumps. Knocks to the foot rim. Hinges to the lid are loose and allow sideways movement. The lid does not sit well and possibly later replacement, appears unmarked? The wood handle is also loose in the silver mounts. It wobbles slightly on a flat surface. Hallmarks located below the rim, rubbed but still legible.
