Lot Description
An Edwardian silver double Sovereign holder, the circular form with foliate decoration surrounding an engraved monogram and shield cartouche, the press release case opening to reveal two silver-gilt engine-turned sprung platform holders for a full and half sovereign. Hallmarked Payton, Pepper & Sons Ltd., Chester 1901, registration no 37057. Diameter measures 3.2 cm, weight 25 grams.

Condition Report
In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The case shuts but not entirely flush. Minor dents and bumps to the outer body. The sprung platforms show signs of wear to the silver-gilt, appear to be in working order. The suspension loop is slightly loose to the pin. Hallmarks slightly rubbed but still legible, registered number 37057.
