Lot Description
An Edwardian silver novelty desk clock with easel back, modelled as a Grandfather clock having an arch top and engraved details to front, eight-day movement and the white enamel dial with black arabic numerals. Hallmarked John Grinsell & Sons, Birmingham 1906. Maximum height measuring 5 3/4 inches (14.5 cm).

Condition Report
The clock displays general tarnishing/staining and expected surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Some slight edge nicks and knocks. Loss of detail to areas of engraved decoration to front. The easel back appears bent in the middle and now lies quite flat. Slight damage to one end of hinge. The silver back of the clock has slight knocks to edge, it can be removed and feels quite loose in position. Visible chip to enamel dial. Hallmarks clear and legible including part hallmarks to removable parts, slight rubbing to maker's marks.
