A late Victorian silver sovereign case, of circular plain form, the press release case opening to reveal an engine-turned sprung platform holder for a full sovereign. Hallmarked Lawrence Emanuel, Birmingham 1900. Diameter measures 3.6 cm, gross weight 31.1 grams.

Condition Report
In overall fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The press release is not in working order and is jammed down, requires attention. The platform holder is in working order and has a good spring when pushed down. Hallmarks clear and legible, partial hallmarks to various sections, the press release is hallmarked Alfred Wigley, assumed Birmingham 1900.
