Lot Description

A 1920's silver cigarette case, of oblong form with engine-turned panelled decoration, the press release opening to reveal a silver-gilt interior, hallmarked Chester 1928, maker's mark C. Together with a 1930's silver cigarette case, of oblong engine-turned form with corner initialled cartouche, hallmarked Birmingham 1934 and a further 1930's silver cigarette case, of curved oblong engine-turned form with engraved cartouche, Birmingham 1935. Gross weight 12.3 ozt (384 grams). (3).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Significant loss of definition to the engine-turned decoration to the larger 1930's example. The press release on the 1920's example appears slightly loose, the case shuts but with a slight gap between the pieces, remnants of dirt residue to the interior. The smaller 1930's example is engraved 'G. I. T' to the cartouche. The larger 1930's example has the name 'Peter' lightly engraved in the cartouche, very worn. Each would benefit from a clean and polish. Hallmarks clear and legible.
