Lot Description

A nineteenth century Russian silver filigree box modelled as a miniature casket, decorated with foliate scroll patterns throughout, the hinged lid with stylised flower finial and the whole standing on four similarly shaped feet. Russian Assay master mark B.C over 1864 alongside standard mark 88 and a further partly distorted probable maker's mark. Length measuring 2 inches (5 cm) by height excluding finial 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm), weight 1.84 ozt (57.4 grams).
