Lot Description

An Edwardian silver vesta case, of oblong form with radiating engine-turned lines surrounding a vacant central cartouche, hallmarked Horace Woodward & Co Ltd., Birmingham 1907, height measuring 4.8 cm. Together with a further Edwardian silver vesta case, of oblong form with an initialled cartouche amidst bright-cut floral engraving, hallmarked Percy Frederick Jackson, Birmingham 1908. Gross weight 1.6 ozt (51.2 grams). (2).

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The 1907 example shuts fully flush with hinge in good working order. The 1908 example shuts fully but catches slightly on closing, engraved with the initials CWB?. Hallmarks clear and legible.
