Lot Description
A late Victorian silver vesta case, of oblong form with engraved floral and foliate motifs, hallmarked J T, Birmingham 1899, width measures 4cm. Together with a further late Victorian silver vesta case (A/F), of smaller oblong form with engraved scrolls surrounding a vacant shield cartouche, hallmarked Birmingham 1897, a 1920's silver vesta case with initialled diagonal cartouche, a 1930's silver 'Parker Beacon' lighter, etc. Gross weighable silver 3.9 ozt (123.9 grams).

Condition Report
In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Minor dent to the back of the 1899 vesta case which also has a small hole to the silver on the corner. The hinged lid of the 1897 example has a significant hole to the top and is missing its fixture pin to it is not attached. The 1920's vesta case is engraved 'H.G.C' to the cartouche. The lighter is hallmarked to the body and further marked 'Licensed English Pat. N 21? 143/52 Made In England - Parker Beacon' alongside another obscured word and numbers. Both retractable pencils are not in working order, one is marked Sterling, the other is marked 'EM&Co' alongside an 'a' date letter. The small box appears unmarked. Hallmarks rubbed in places but majority clear and legible.
