Lot Description

A George III silver part canteen in Fiddle pattern, comprising ten table spoons, eight dessert spoons and eight side forks, all with crest engraved terminals. Hallmarked William Eley, William Fearn & William Chawner, London 1811. Weight 48.44 ozt (1507 grams).

All the pieces appear tarnished, in particular some of the table spoon bowls are very heavily stained and would benefit from a clean and polish. All displaying general surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Elastic band marks visible to some stems. Heavier wear and surface nicks to some of the bowls and minor dints/bumps to some. In particular, a couple of the teaspoons bowls are slightly misshapen. Also some heavier wear to tips of the fork tines and some are a little bent. Hallmarks mostly clear and legible, some rubbing to maker's marks.
