Lot Description

A selection of flatware and cutlery to include a George III silver mustard spoon, of Fiddle pattern, assumed London 1789, maker's mark partly worn and obscured, length measuring 4 6/8 inches (12.3 cm). Together with a part set of late Victorian silver-gilt fruit knives and forks, including seven knives and three forks, each of double struck King's pattern, hallmarked Francis Higgins III, London 1887, a set of six 1920's silver handled butter knives, a Russian silver spoon of Fiddle pattern, marked with the second kokoshnik mark for Moscow alongside a cyrillic maker's mark, etc. Gross weighable silver 7.4 ozt (232.8 grams).

In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The gilding on the fruit forks appears quite dull and worn, the knives appear slightly brighter in appearance, one of the knives is still in its protective plastic. The blades on the butter knives are plated. Some of the other loose miscellaneous spoons have engraved initials. Majority of hallmarks/marks clear and legible. This lot may have export issues, for customers outside of the EU, please note that it is the buyers responsibility to adhere to any import/export requirements.
