Lot Description

A set of four George III silver tablespoons, each of Old English pattern with crested terminal, hallmarked Christopher & Thomas Wilkes Barke, London 1800, length measuring 8 7/8 inches (22.7 cm). Together with an early twentieth century cased set of six silver coffee spoons and a pair of sugar tongs, hallmarked C W Fletcher & Son Ltd (Charles William Fletcher), Sheffield 1913. Gross weight 13.2 ozt (412.5 grams).

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The tips of the tablespoons are slightly worn, with some heavier marks and scratches to the interior bowls. The fitted case for the coffee spoons has some minor scuffs and marks, the base is starting to split along the joins. Hallmarks clear and legible.
