Lot 23

Lot Description

A pair of George III silver servers, of double struck Hour glass pattern with engraved crest and motto to the terminal, the bowls of shovel form. Hallmarked William Eley & William Fearn, London 1817. Length measuring 10 7/8 inches (27.8 cm), gross weight 12.3 ozt (385 grams).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Slight variations between the engraved crest and mottos. One appears more tarnished, both appear to have been gilded which looks quite dull and worn. Noticeable wear around the edge of the shovel bowls with heavier surface scratches to the interior of one. Both would benefit from a clean and polish. Hallmarks clear and legible.
