Lot 31

Lot Description

A pair of George III small silver sauce boats, each of plain form with engraved crest and personal inscription, high arch flying foliate capped scroll handle and raised upon an oval pedestal base. Hallmarked Stephen Adams II, London 1783. Height inclusive of handle measuring 4 inches (10.2 cm), gross weight 6.7 ozt (208.6 grams).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

In fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Couple of noticeable dents to the bodies. One of the handle is compressed inwards causing it to appear shorter. Both are engraved with a shield crest with engraved initials below and '8 May 1784'. Both would benefit from a clean and polish. Hallmarks rubbed and worn but still just legible.
