Lot Description

A selection of twenty six early to late Victorian mother-of-pearl and silver folding knives, of varying shape and design, majority with engraved floral and scroll motifs, seven with engraved personal inscriptions or initials to the blade or cartouches. Hallmarks for Birmingham and Sheffield, various dates and maker's marks including John Yeomans Cowlishaw and James Fenton & Co. (26).

In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some of the blades are slightly creased in places or appear a bit thin. Majority appear in good working order in terms of the folding function, some hinges are a little loose and some do not shut fully flush. The engraved inscriptions to the cartouche or blades include various names and initials. Majority of hallmarks clear and legible. This lot may have export issues, for customers outside of the EU, please note that it is the buyers responsibility to adhere to any import/export requirements.
