Lot Description
A selection of thirty eight mainly Edwardian mother-of-pearl and silver folding knives, of varying shape and design, majority with engraved floral and foliate motifs, five with personal inscriptions or initials to the cartouches, one with an ivory handle. Hallmarks for Birmingham and Sheffield, various dates and maker's marks including John Yeomans Cowlishaw and Thomas Marples. (38).

Condition Report
In varied state, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some of the blades are slightly creased in places or appear a bit thin. Majority appear in good working order in terms of the folding function, a couple have loose hinges or do not shut fully flush. The engraved inscriptions to the cartouche include various names and initials. Some signs of Verdigris. One of the initialled examples is missing a piece from the mother-of-pearl handle exposing the wood metal support. Majority of hallmarks clear and legible, there are two Victorian examples. This lot may have export issues, for customers outside of the EU, please note that it is the buyers responsibility to adhere to any import/export requirements.
