Lot Description
A Sampson Mordan silver menu card or place menu holder, unusually modelled as four balls each with a flame finial, possibly in the style of the Grenadier Guards, two finials are fixed and two are removable. Hallmarked Sampson Mordan & Co., London, date letter partly obscured but possibly 1880 or 1881, also impressed 'Jones-Paris & London'. Maximum height 5 cm, gross weight 39.6 grams.

Condition Report
In fair to good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The removable finials appear a bit loose, the gilding on the finials appear slightly worn and dull. Hallmarks rubbed and worn but still just legible apart from the date letter which is possibly 1880 or 1881.
