The box displays some tarnishing and surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Some heavier spots of tarnishing, dirt and residues to interior. Minor dints around the mount to glazed panel. Dirt beneath the glass. Appear to be some scratches and minor losses to the surface of the painted panel. Base and lid fit together well. Maker's mark appears to underside of lid, quite rubbed. Lid appears unmarked. A couple of similar marks for both Birmingham and London assay. Perhaps most similar to the mark for John Touliet (circa 1785..1796).
