Condition Report
The exterior of the box tests as 82-87% silver and the interior tests as 50% gold & 40% silver. It appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some general tarnishing and expected surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age and use. Some heavier contact marks and scratches to underside. Hinged lid appears in good working order and it closes well, rising only very slightly in closed position. Slight damage to one area of the mount of the glazed panel and there are some heavier scratches and nicks visible to the surface of the glass. Residues of dirt and dust can be seen beneath the glass and the blue enamel is probably faded. Overall the decoration still appears fairly crisp with minimal loss of surface detail. Possibly Norwegian?
