Lot Description

A George III silver Jockey cap caddy spoon, decorated with stipple punched borders and monogrammed to the top. Hallmarked Birmingham 1798 with maker's mark 'IT', possibly Joseph Taylor. Length measuring 5 cm, weight 6.8 grams.

Appears in fairly good overall condition, displaying some light tarnishing and surface wear, marks and scratches commensurate with age. Small rim split near the shaped edge at the rear of the cap. A further small split and hole just below the date letter where the metal curves to the brim. Slight yellowish staining or residue to the interior of the cap. Some rubbing and slight distortion to hallmarks but still clearly legible.
