India, Mughal Empire, Alamgir II (1754-1759), gold Pagoda, Imtiyazgadh mint, Persian legends each side, 3.4g (KM 468.1). Extremely fine. <p>

With a printed ticket signed by Dr Frank Mitchell, a doyen of South African numismatics, that this coin was recovered in October 1965 from the wreck of the "Fame", which foundered on rocks at Table Bay, South Africa, on 14^th June 1822.
