Lot Description

A small 1930's silver caster, of plain bellied form with removable pierced cover with knopped finial and raised upon a circular stepped base, hallmarked S Blanckensee & Son Ltd., Chester 1935, maximum height measuring 5 1/2 inches (14 cm). Together with a small 1940's silver five bar toast rack with central ring handle, hallmarked Walker & Hall, Birmingham 1945. Gross weight 4.1 ozt (129.9 grams). (2).

In good overall condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The base of the caster has a slight bump to the rim, the pierced cover is slightly stiff to remove and put back on because of some hardened residue around the rim, remnants of sugar to the interior. Hallmarks clear and legible, partial hallmarks to various sections.
