Lot Description

An early twentieth century silver christening mug, of plain circular tapered form with 'C' shape handle, hallmarked James Deakin & Sons (John & William F Deakin), Sheffield 1918, height measuring 3 1/8 inches (8 cm). Together with a 1920's silver christening mug, of circular reeded form with vacant oval cartouche and flat top scroll handle, hallmarked William Suckling Ltd., Birmingham 1927. Gross weight 5.2 ozt (163.5 grams). (2).

In good condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. The 1918 example has a slight bump to the edge of the base and rim. Hallmarks clear and legible.
