Lot Description

A George III silver sauce boat, of small oval form with embossed trailing foliage surrounding a vacant cartouche, with foliate capped scroll handle and raised upon three hoof feet. Hallmarked London 1775, maker's mark for TW. Height inclusive of handle measures 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm), weight 3.3 ozt (103.9 grams).

Condition Report

In poor condition, the lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Replacement handle alongside significant repairs and alteration in this area. Further repairs to the joins of the feet and various other solder repairs around the body. Small tears to the frilled rim which has been repaired. Feet do not sit flat. Hallmarks are clear and legible.
