Lot 48

Lot Description

A matched pair of mid-twentieth century small silver candlesticks, each with circular filled base rising to a scroll stem and stepped tapering socket with fixed nozzle. Hallmarked Henry Clifford Davis, Birmingham 1957 and 1960. Height measuring 5 inches (12.7 cm).

Postage: Postable

Weight: No

Total lot weight: No

Both candlesticks appear quite heavily tarnished and would benefit from a clean and polish. General surface wear, marks and scratches and a few minor dints. One of the scroll stems with a seam split and it leans to one side. Consequently, the whole candlestick leans slightly. Likely repairs. Also possible solder repairs around some of the joins on the other candlestick. Hallmarks are rubbed but legible, maker's marks partly distorted.
